Happy New Year
This blog, Achieving Work-life Happiness, will describe steps that you can take to find work-life satisfaction and fulfillment. For most of us, that means, finding a calling - getting hired to do a wonderful job, creating a helpful business, enrolling in an educational program, serving in a meaningful volunteer capacity or raising a family. For many, it involves a mix of these.
I'm in full time private practice as a psychologist-psychoanalyst. Because two of my subspecialties are: work-life (workplace dynamics and career) and relationships, many people seek me out because they are unhappy or stymied in their work-life and/or their relationships suffer. In dealing with work-life difficulties, I've found that when work-life isn't going well, typically, people have encountered one or more of the following struggles:
1. I can't figure out what I want to do with my life.
2. I know what I want to do with my life but I am uncertain as to how to develop a plan to get started.
3. I know what I want to do with my life, I have a plan but I can't seem to galvanize myself to begin and to stay on track.
This blog will address each of these issues and more. I'll be posting and linking to relevant articles and I'll recommend readings.
I'll share a little theory and I'll share some concrete suggestions. If you have questions, feel free to write to me. Although I won't be able to answer all of your questions (I'm in full-time, private practice and most of my after work hours are devoted to family and friends), I'll try to summarize and answer them in the aggregate.
As for following me, feel free to sign up to receive my blog or to follow me on twitter. I look forward to hearing from you.
Best to all, LVF
